on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. Boarding dogs must be dropped off before 2pm. You can pick your dog up anytime between 7am- 6pm Monday-Friday and anytime between 9am-5pm on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. A late fee will be assessed if your dog is picked up late.

Should I bring anything for my dog for daycare/boarding?
It is not necessary for you to bring anything for your dog for daycare. We highly recommend that you bring your dog’s own food, as it is best for your dog to stay on the diet he/she is accustomed to, as well as, a bed/blanket. If your dog requires medication you must also provide that. Please bring the medication in the original prescription bottle.

Should I feed my dog(s) before they go to daycare?
Yes, you should feed your dog(s) before they come to daycare. If possible feed them at least an hour before they arrive because this will give them a chance to digest before they become too active.  We will not feed any dogs during daycare unless there is an extremely special circumstance, in which case that needs to be discussed.

What does a normal day consist of at Rocky Hill Ranch?
There is no such thing as a normal day at Rocky Hill Ranch. Your dog can do anything they please in our abundance of space. This is anything from playing for hours to sleeping all day or anything in between. As long as they are not harming themselves or others they will not have any restrictions. Your dog will be monitored very closely in order to avoid any stressful or uncomfortable situations.

Can I make last minute arrangements?
Absolutely! Our services book up quickly, so please try to give advanced notice, but as long as you call or contact us to make sure there is availability we may even be able to accommodate you the same day. Most important is that no animal goes uncared for, and no plans are cancelled.

Is someone watching the dogs at all times?
Yes, someone is with the dogs at all times. We have at least one dog care person for every 15 dogs. In addition there is always somebody on the premises overnight with the dogs to ensure their safety in case of an emergency.

What is the interview process?
To be accepted, you must submit an application and proof of vaccinations. Your dog is observed among other dogs to determine whether he/she is compatible for daycare. Interviews are conducted Monday - Friday. This observation period takes 3 hours at no charge, but you are more than welcome to leave your dog for the rest of the day at the normal daycare rate. If your dog passes he/she is ready for Rocky Hill Ranch daycare and/or boarding anytime.

If my dog fails the interview process, does that mean he is not allowed at Rocky Hill Ranch?
No. It means that we will have an additional conversation to determine the best course of action for your dog.

Are there any breeds of dogs that are not permitted?
No, all dogs are allowed to go though the interview process and subsequent training if need be until they are either determined compatible for Rocky Hill Ranch or until we or the owner decides it will not work.

What makes you different than any other kennel?
Kennels typically are buildings that house dogs with little or no outdoor space. We are the complete opposite of that. We are the only place along the entire front range that gives your dog acres of area to do as they please, all day, every day, without restrictions. This allows the dogs to be incredibly restful at night. This experience allows the dogs to go home stress-free and happy.

Can I take a tour?
Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it.

If my dog has health issues, can he/she still come?
This depends on the health issues. We do not accept dogs with any communicable diseases or parasites. There are other health issues such as ear infections, arthritis, glaucoma, diabetes, and cancer, which we are usually able to accommodate. It is best to discuss any possible issues with us first.

Will someone be able to give my dog medicine?

We administer medication provided by you in any form for no additional fee. This includes injections. All medications must be in their original container.

Why do you require that my dog be spayed or neutered?
This is not a dating service. We are not willing to take any chances at Rocky Hill Ranch and we encourage all dogs be spayed or neutered regardless of whether they plan on attending or not.

Does my dog need to get its Bordatella shot?
No. Bordatella, which is commonly called the “kennel cough” vaccine, is not required. It does not prevent all strains of kennel cough and if given many times over the dogs life actually weakens the dogs immune system. Due to the set-up of Rocky Hill Ranch we have eliminated many of the risks associated with kennel cough especially stress. As a result the likelihood of your dog contracting kennel cough is greatly decreased. If you have given your dog this vaccine please inform us because they must stay out of daycare for 7-10 days.

What happens if my dog is not getting along with other dogs?
This will be addressed immediately and hopefully taken care of shortly with a little bit of personal attention. If for some reason your dog is still not getting along with the other dogs after a considerable amount of time and energy is put into fixing the situation, he/she will be separated from the other dogs. We will address the situation with you when you pick your dog up and determine our options.

Do dogs ever get hurt?
Although we do our best to minimize the potential for any injury to your dog, during normal play a dog may get small scratches, nicks, and lose small patches of fur. Although rare, it is possible for more serious injuries to occur.

What if my dog gets sick or injured?

We will take excellent care of your dog if an accident occurs. If it is not an emergency, you will be contacted to determine what steps you would like us to take. If it is an emergency, we will take your dog to our vet immediately.
